The winter Olympics have always been a big deal in our house. Even as a small child, I waited with bated breath as our American girls competed in figure skating. I still remember being on Debi Thomas’ cheer squad when she took on Katarina Witt. I want my kiddos to get as excited as I did about watching our team rack up those medals…I still love falling asleep listening to the metal count late at night. Am I alone?
If you’re as nostalgic as I am about the Olympics, you may want to get your kids as excited about the games as you are. There are lots of fun ways that you can inspire some Olympics fever in your household. You could make up your own set of games with homemade medals to boot. In celebration of Sochi, you could have a Russian themed dinner. You could even make your own torches and have a parade in your neighborhood.
